I’m starting a new website. Where do I EVEN begin?

So, for whatever reason you have decided that you are about to embark on the journey of starting your own website. Whether it is a full fledged internet career you are attempting to begin, or the simple “storefront presence” that you feel the need to establish online, the following are some of the very first things you may want to consider BEFORE getting to far into the process of designing and creating any new website.

First, the new internet entrepreneur should be aware of the total importance of “proper planning before execution” in the early stages of the “web design” process!

For starters, once an internet newcomer decides on the specific internet application to use to build the basis of their website around, to turn it around at a later point in time can often ensue tremendous amounts of effort that (realistically) are often just not worthwhile.

-If you decide to begin building your new internet site using a particular platform (lets use what is called in the industry as the “Drupal”just as an example) that is all fine and dandy. It is with this in mind that, besides possibly having and utilizing the appeal of eye-catching graphics and visually appealing templates, what was the original purpose of the website in the first place? Is the purpose of the site to cause people to order a product or a service online, even upon the first and only visit to the site? If this is the case, then does the design of the website help this to occur? Is it easy for the internet visitor to get to and to find the order page?

Or , suppose that the purpose of the new website is not to get folks to order something online at all but, rather, to simply compel folks to actually hop into the car and come on out and visit a particular store or location? If this is the case, then special emphasis needs to be placed on the proper location of maps, directions, appropriate contact numbers, locations hours of the place they may be visiting, etc.
